A-Star to hit the European and Latin American markets soon enough!

Maruthi-Suzuki, one of the leaders of automobiles in the Asian market, especially in the Indian market, is in the idea of tapping new markets for export. This is because of the fact that the demand for compact cars has increased in large extent globally. The Maruti-Suzuki A–Star, which is already a decent hit in India, will soon be seen across various countries of Africa and Latin America as the Maruthi-Suzuki collaboration plans to expand their sales to the other countries as well.

The auto maker came to decision to achieve its annual target of 150,000 sales of cars this year. Interestingly, this number is exactly double the last year’s figure in terms of overall sales. Intended and developed for export, the A – star cars have already been shipped to Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Italy and France also. The other major markets in surope have also been added in the list.

The company has an idea of shipping 70,000 A – Star cars which will be sold under its banner. Nissan will purchase 30,000 units and market it as Nissan Pixo model in Europe.

Maruthi has sales and distribution network along Chile, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Algeria and many other places.

Keeping the global economic crisis in mind, the low and mid budget compact-cars are expected to dominate the market for at least next couple of years. Maruthi’s move to promote its car abroad is welcome news for all those who wished that the low-budget compact cars like A-star should go international. With the standard and quality, A – Star is sure to rock the international market as well, and Ritz will soon join the venture too.
