10 Best High Temperature Paints for Metals

Our list of 10 Best high temperature resistant paints for metals that useful for different projects’ like painting engines, ovens, electric motors and anything that is built with metal and needs resistance to high temperatures.

Number 10) Thermo-Tec 12001: Exhaust Wrap Coating, High-Temperature

To finish off a clean and well-protected Exhaust Insulating Wrap application it is recommended to use High Heat Coating. The coating will protect your wrap from abrasion and harmful liquid spills. Extra resins and binders toughen the surface, extend the life of the wrap by protecting it from friction, and seals the pores to minimize the penetration of harmful liquids. Also, the coating also works excellent as a paint directly on metal surfaces and can handle continuous temperatures up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Manufacturer Part Number: 12001
  • Item only fits specific models listed. The picture could be generic.
  • Message us with VIN/HULL for fast fitment verification.

Number 9) Krylon High Heat Max

Kyron High Heat provides high heat projects with the high-quality protection they need, stands up to high temperatures and protects against rust.
It’ll work on wood but it won’t give wood MORE fire resistance than it has already (which isn’t much).
Wood combusts at about 300° F so this paint is way overkill, the wood will long be burned away while the paint stays. Get the regular “High Heat” paint (this one is “High Heat Max”). This is designed for metal that gets hot so the paint itself won’t burn off.

  • Maximum color and finish protection
  • Withstands temperatures up to 1200 Degree F intermittently; up to 600Degree F continuously
  • Premium rust resistance
  • Dries in 10 minutes or less
  • For use on grills, BBQs, fire pits, wood-burning stoves and heating radiators

Number 8) KBS XTC Xtreme Temperature Coating

Must be used with KBS XTC Zinc Primer 191-65100 12oz Aerosol Can. KBS XTC Xtreme Dries to a nice, even flat finish. It forms thermal barrier that isolates energy from the rest of the vehicle. It is recommended to use 2 thin layers on the top of the company recommended matching primer. Withstands up to 1500 Degree F, and it is not expensive.
