I bought a set of used winter tires that are in pretty good condition but the noise the studs make while I drive on the interstate is too much for me as I have sensitive hearing.

Will removing the studs damage or ruin my tires in any way?

yea they are in the design you may damage the tire perm. just change your tires out to a non stud type

Wouldn’t that leave holes in your tires? How well do you think the tires will work with holes in it?

    Get some all season tires.

  3. You can remove the studs. But I heard its way too much work to put them studs in. And just as much work just to get them out. You may hate the sounds of the studs, but getting them out sucks even more.
A: either get a new set of tires
B: stick with the current tires and use ear plugs.

To get the studs out you need to use soapy water and grab with a vice grip or pliers and pull as if your life depended on it. Seriously get a new set of tires.

  4. despite what the other people said about having holes in your tires, that’s wrong. there will be holes, but they will be in the tread. you can remove studs, but it’ll be hard to do and you’ll have less traction. if i were you, sell the tires and buy studless tires. according to tirerack, some studless tires can do better than studded tires.
