what causes a 1997 mazda 626 to idle good but when put in gear will not take throttle?

my 626 will sit and run great until you put it in gear. then it falls on its face and will not take throttle. I have put new fuel pump and checked sensors,replaced sensors, and checked for vacuum leaks. no code comes up.
